Spring time in the park
Nothing says spring quite like park evenings with people that I love. I know you're probably thinking, We're over two months into spring. Get with the program... But it's just gotten to that warm spring that is so delightfully springy, it almost makes me want to pull weeds... Almost. I fall in love with this state all over again with each season change. Living in a place with four true seasons is magical to this California-raised girl. Even with the long winters, I love it. But once it's time, the weather changes are crazy fast here. One day it's freezing, stay-in-and-snuggle-up-to-the-fire kind of weather. The next, flowers are blooming and the sun has melted that snow away. I hear lots of complaints about the bipolar weather, but to me, it's perfect. And over night we went from cool spring, to almost-summer spring. Yippie!
This weekend we took full advantage of the beautiful weather and spent hours on green-green grass chasing babies around and picnicking with great company. My sister and her littles are still here, which means, the circus continues. Welles' buddy Edison and his family joined us for a perfect evening and to watch our crew of clowns.
Being outdoors is one of my favorite ways to re-charge my soul. By no means do I claim to be a serious rock-climber, week long camper or hard core back-packer, BUT I do crave cold grass beneath my feet. I love getting out to the mountains and taking in the incline of trees and fresh air. When we are in CA I feel like I could sit and listen to waves for days on end. As I get older, my appreciation for these creations grow and my desire to get our family outdoors becomes a priority. Even just a visit to the park, getting away from screens and toys can do the trick. Especially since loading up five toddlers and taking them for a hike in the mountains seemed just a tad daunting...
If you're planning on park days this spring and summer check out this blanket from Little Messengers. It's it to die for? And those two on it... Heart eyes.
Happy Monday, people!
