FIVE

Our lover/fighter, whimsical and imaginative, bossy and passionate little buggy is a beautiful five-year-old. What?! Lately when I look at her I feel like I'm looking at a teenager! I guess I'm not quite ready for her to stop needing me so much. She's looking much older and becoming so independent (in spirit). How does this happen so fast? She was a perfect newborn and I was a nervous new mom just yesterday! Time... you sly devil. 

December birthdays... So hard when you live in a snowy state! I am an absolute grinch when it comes to kid birthdays and putting in any sort of effort. Awful, yes but it's the cold hard truth. ;) So imagine poor Scarlett having a birthday in the busiest month of the year... double grinch! No outdoor options and the last thing I want to do is invite a bunch of little snow-tracking kids into the house! So for the second year in a row, we did a party for her at Airborne, a trampoline arena. And for the second year in a row, she had an absolute blast! She picked a few of her bestest little pals and had a "girl power" party which only required me to book the place, order super-girl capes and masks and pick up Sweet Tooth Fairy for all! A win-win if you ask me. 

Airborne has different jumping areas with foam pits, rock climbing walls, a dodge ball area and high jumps into the pits. The kids dispursed and the adults watched from comfy couches. We had a reserved room where they provided pizzas and we broke out the cupcakes from Sweet Tooth Fairy. In the end, I had no clean up and carried kids and gifts out to the car and threw my hands up in "hallelujah" for being done! Another successful party that didn't require pinterest, decorating or baking! I don't know how some moms do it... I just stink in the creative department and love keeping it simple in these chaotic times! Thank you Airborne for making my life easier. 

I loved watching these cute girls who have been friends since they were just tiny tots. Scarlett has no sisters so she just relishes time spent with these sweet girls. Watching them grow together makes my heart happy.
